US Marine threatened with decapitation

A U.S. Marine has been captured and will be decapitated unless certain prisoners held in occupation prisons are released.

John Kerry wants to make situations like this a police action while President George Bush wants to destroy them. My guess is that the decapitators will be hoping that the cops are called instead of a surprise GBU-32 bomb showing up in the middle of the night in their bedroom, but that is just a guess. They should pray that John Kerry is elected while the rest of us pray that George Bush wins 4 more years.

Love In A Time Of Danger

This is a first. I have never posted someone's else complete post from another blogger. That is about to change.

Sean does not like it when I call him a 9/11 Victim. He tells me he's not a victim. His coworkers who died were victims. His wife of ten years was a victim. He was just there when it happened.

When we are together, I ask him questions about her. He is patient with me, explaining their relationship, not diminishing it just because she is no longer here, which I appreciate. I listen, trying to understand how it must feel to be in his skin and to live through that day and the thousand days that have passed. A few weeks ago, while in New York, I sat on the counter of his modern kitchen while he poured glasses of red wine. On the fridge was a snapshot of his wife and their son taken in Central Park that September. She's tiny, with a brown ponytail, bright brown eyes, and a natural, genuinely happy grin. I didn't feel like an interloper, exactly. Maybe an observer. A witness. Had things been different, she is the kind of woman who might be one of my best friends.

Instead, I'm dating her husband.

I knew I had fallen in love with him and his life - his beautiful son, his beautiful apartment with the astonishing views, his thoughts and mind and heart, all of it, everything - when I woke up one Saturday morning to a knock on the door. I grabbed a sweater to throw over my pajamas and went to the door, and there he was, like the continuation of a very nice dream. Unexpectedly, he had flown down on the breakfast flight from New York. I threw my arms around him, and told him I was exhausted and to come nap with me. After that, we've known that this was not a trivial thing.

I realize that I am getting into something that is both wonderful and daunting. Every time 9/11 is mentioned, I see the crinkles around his eyes tighten up, just for a second. It's personal to him, and by extention, it's personal to me. The other night he called me at three in the morning. I stay up late, so I didn't mind, but I knew he had to be at work early the next morning. As soon as I saw his name on my caller ID I answered, "Hey, is everything okay?"

He said yes. I guess I already know him well enough to not press him. I said okay and asked what he was doing. He deflected the question, and asked what I was doing. I told him I was writing and watching television and doing yoga and thinking about baking some butterscotch cookies for him when I go up to New York on Saturday. He was very quiet. I said, "Are you okay?"

And then he said, "I had a nightmare."

I shut off the television.

He started to tell me that he had a nightmare that she had jumped. She was standing in the window, in her little pantsuit and pumps, looking down. It was flames or freefall. Then he was there, beside her, and he was asking her to try and get out, then she fell suddenly, into the vast blue nothingness with a loud scream. When he woke up he was sick. He hadn't had a nightmare in a long time, nearly a year. I told him it was okay. He said that he was afraid that she was in pain when she died. That she was burned or crushed or .... jumped. I told him that she wasn't in pain. It was fast, it was very fast, I say - because what else can I say? I start to cry. I don't know that his wife didn't die a horrible painful death - and neither does he. He doesn't know how she died because they did not find enough of her to determine that. We talk for a long time. He tells me he feels guilty and that he should have gone inside the South Tower and gotten her out of there. I remind him, gently, that he was lucky to get out of his own building - the North Tower - alive. He didn't know that the building would topple. He didn't know that she wasn't on her way out. There was nothing he could have done. He is quiet, so I keep saying it. "There is nothing you could have done. It's not your fault."

After half an hour, he is calm. He tells me that he loves me. I say, "I know you do. I love you too." Sean is quiet. I can imagine him perfectly. He's in bed, the crimson coverlet kicked to the foot of the bed while the cream colored comforter is up to his waist. He's kept the lights off, the phone is against his ear. The sheers are down over the windows, though the curtains are pulled back. Through the gauze, the lights of the city filter in. He is thinking about his wife, and me, and this new life. Finally I can hear him shift in bed, rolling over to his left side, probably. He says, "Thank you for listening to me."

I wipe a few tears out of my eyes. "It's my pleasure. I love listening to you."

"It's us now," he says in a rush. "Isn't it?"

The breath is knocked out of me. I say "Yes."

We say goodnight and hang up. I walk around my house, thinking about the conversation. I feel suddenly very angry and very sad. The fight against terrorism isn't just happening in Iraq, Afghanistan, and other parts of the world. It's still happening here at home, in places like Virginia and New York City. It's being waged in the 3,000 families who aren't finished grieving over their loved ones and who will never be finished grieving. It's being waged every time a wife wakes up to the crying baby who will never know his father, and every time a man wakes up in a cold sweat dreaming that his wife jumped to avoid being burned alive. The war on terror isn't some make believe idea. It's real. And I say this as somebody who knows firsthand just how real it is.

Computer-assisted drafters or CAD operators is also going unfilled. Nursing is another area that is going in search of qualified applicants.

Part of the problem is that kids are coming out of public High Schools without the proper math needed to be able to tackle today's complex technology.

Yet to hear John Kerry and the rest of the Democrats, Jobs are only available if you can flip a hamburger. The jobs mentioned above is from one area, Nashville Tennessee. If I was a betting man, I would bet that they are not the only city in the U.S. that cannot fill high paying jobs.

Maybe it is because our schools only teach basic hamburger flipping instead of basic math. We all know who controls our schools and who they donate time and dollars to elect.

I have been trying to not watch or even listen to the killing of our fellow American Nick Berg. That was short lived. Wife and I was on the way home last night and we had the Michael Savage radio show on and he played the audio of the screaming and what sounding like gurgling sounds coming from Nick as he was murdered in cold blood . To say I am pissed is being nice. I am angry at the US media for promoting the Arabs side, while ignoring for the most part those who would behead each and everyone of us, including our children. I am angry at John Kerry and the Democrats for degrading our military. I am angry at Ted Kennedy for telling me that Nick's beheading is equal to putting underwear on someone's head. I now wonder if Mary Jo screamed and made gurgling sounds while she was being killed/murdered ( pick your own word if you like ) at Chappaquiddick.

U.S. intelligence officials have concluded that terrorist leader Abu Musab al-Zarqawi ( guess Al-Qaida was/is in Iraq after all ) was the one that killed one of us in cold blood. I hate this feeling of total frustration of being able to do nothing, so I have decided to put my money where my anger is

The United States is offering $10 million dollars for the capture of Abu Musab al-Zarqawi

Make that $10 Million + my $50 - just let me know where to send the money to the person that helps the U.S. capture Abu Musab al-Zarqawi.

The 1st North Korean United States President

John Kerry has already indicated that he wants to be the 2nd Black President. Well Democratic nominee John Kerry do not despair! as you can certainly do much better than being a lowly #2. You can be the 1st North Korea US President as you will be assured of the Dear Leader and Hanoi Jane voting block. If that ends up not working out for you, you can upgrade to be the World's 1st World President. You will be of course get the German's support and the French will just love you for pledging to surrender to our enemies on the US war on terror. Not only will you wave the white flag, you want to apologize that President Bush had the nerve to make mistakes, like killing those who want to kill us. I am betting after your apology letter to Iran that you will be able to get their support for World President, especially since you blamed the United States in your email.

Sadly, we are also painfully aware of how the actions and the attitudes demonstrated by the U.S. government over the past three years have threatened the goodwill earned by presidents of both parties over many decades and put many of our international relationships at risk.

It is in the urgent interests of the people of the United States to restore our country's credibility in the eyes of the world. America needs the kind of leadership that will repair alliances with countries on every continent that have been so damaged in the past few years, as well as build new friendships and overcome tensions with others.

Of course the offer to be World President is only open for a limited amount of time. At the rate you change your mind on every issue, the shortage of time would not be a concern for you.

I have added IRAQ THE MODEL to my daily must read blogs. To tell the truth I am not sure exactly why. I guess it comes down to wanting to see what the money that would have been used for my free Health Insurance is being used for. Either that or I am totally thrilled to read about humans beings that have had their families raped, murdered and tortured feel about that big "F" word that the rest of us have known all our lives, that word is Freedom

So I am saying this is why Ali's blog is a must read. Iraqi people have lived and are living now thru some pretty momentous times and only they are the best judges of how they feel, no one else. I am just very fortunate to be able to read about it in his own words. It is so tiresome to hear the Democrats speak for all of the Iraqi people.

Several weeks back I had wrote about General "Weasel" Clark spamming my personal email address that is never used for politics. He was attempting to raise money and recruit volunteer's to his campaign via that email.

Things have not changed since then as the Attorney General of North Dakota is investigating to see if Clark's presidential campaign was a violation of the state's new "do not call" law.

The new telemarketing law -- aimed at cutting down on unwanted phone solicitations -- bans the use of prerecorded phone calls unless a live operator first gets permission to play the message. The operator must disclose who's calling, what it's for and whether it will solicit money.

I make it a point to read each new blogger that is added to the B4B Blogroll, and yesterday I dropped by to see what CURIOUSER AND CURIOUSER had to say. To say I was stunned is putting it rather mildly.

1/20/04 - 20:43 EST Know Who You Shop With. There is a web site out there that is connecting shoppers to stores that have signed up with them. The site then steers the shopper to the stores in its affiliate list. So far, not too rare on the web.

But this site (named shoptodropbush.com), takes a percentage of the fees paid by the stores and contributes it to organizations who are dedicated to defeating President Bush in the 2004 presidential election. I suggest you look at the site here so that you can know which businesses are lining up against the president. I would also suggest that you send a few emails to the businesses participating in this little ploy to voice your dissatisfaction. One of the organizations that this site contributes to is Moveon.org, which has hosted videos and links to videos equating President Bush with Adolph Hitler. They don't deserve your or my business, but the do deserve to hear how you feel about it.

I have already written two of the companies that I do business with to express my disgust that they would participate with folks who think our President is Hitler. Take the time to review the list

1/21/04 - 09:11 EST Update on shoptodropbush.com. In the article here, I published the web link to the site called shoptodropbush.com which is taking fees from companies to contribute to organizations like Moveon.org to defeat President Bush. I wrote several emails to some of the companies listed on this site to voice my concern about their behavior. Well the first company to respond was Hickory Farms. Although I'm not clear on what exactly they are doing about it, the response looks like this:

Our legal department is now going forward with ligation (sic) in response to many such websites. Thank you again for this information.

Sounds to me like Hickory Farms may have been unaware of what that site was doing and may be taking legal action against it. If that is true - Hooray for Hickory Farms and shoptodropbush.com is even nastier than I thought it was. Guess I'll be writing even more letters to other companies - they may not be aware that this is going on.

This is a company that I had totally forgot about. We had purchased several of their Gift boxes for Christmas gifts at the local Mall. Granted the $250 we spent there will be but a drop in the bucket to their bottom line. Until they are removed from this hate Bush site, it will be a drop that Hickory Farms will not see and I plan on writing them and telling them

The RNC issued a press release yesterday saying the site includes voter-registration information and a Web log that would give the public access to party leaders. The site's address is www.gop.com

In the release, Mr. Gillespie said: "We've put a lot of time and thought into developing and launching a highly interactive, multi-media site that gives people the tools to engage in the political debate."

Lid Blown Off O'Neill/Suskind Hoax

John Hinderaker aka "Hindrocket" over at Power Line has a great post on Paul O'Neill's appearance 0n 60 minutes last night. I am posting John's entire post.

"Laurie Mylroie sent out an email about Paul O'Neill's appearance on 60 Minutes last night; she notes what appears to be a major error in Ron Suskind's book, which casts doubt on the credibility of both Suskind and O'Neill. Here is the key portion of Mylroie's email:

"In his appearance this evening on '60 Minutes,' Ron Suskind, author of The Price of Loyalty, based to a large extent on information from former Secretary of the Treasury Paul O'Neill, made an astonishing, very serious misstatement.

"Suskind claimed he has documents showing that preparations for the Iraq war were well underway before 9-11. He cited--and even showed--what he said was a Pentagon document, entitled, 'Foreign Suitors for Iraq Oilfield Contracts.' He claimed the document was about planning for post-war Iraq oil (CBS's promotional story also contained that claim): http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2004/01/09/60minutes/printable592330.shtml

"But that is not a Pentagon document. It's from the Vice-President's Office. It was part of the Energy Project that was the focus of Dick Cheney's attention before the 9/11 strikes.

"And the document has nothing to do with post-war Iraq. It was part of a study of global oil supplies. Judicial Watch obtained it in a law suit and posted it, along with related documents, on its website at: http://www.judicialwatch.org/071703.c_.shtml Indeed, when this story first broke yesterday, the Drudge Report had the Judicial Watch document linked (no one at CBS News saw that, so they could correct the error, when the show aired?)"

What Mylroie says about the "Foreign Suitors" document is correct. The Judicial Watch link still works as of this morning, and as you can easily see, the document, dated March 5, 2001, has nothing to do with post-war planning. It is merely a list of existing and proposed "Iraqi Oil & Gas Projects" as of that date. And it includes projects in Iraq by countries that obviously would not have been part of any "post-war" plans of the Bush administration, such as, for example, Vietnam.

So Suskind (and apparently O'Neill) misrepresented this document, which appears to be a significant part of their case, given that Suskind displayed in on 60 Minutes. It would not be possible for anyone operating in good faith to represent the document as Suskind did.

But the truth is even worse than Mylroie pointed out in her email. The CBS promo linked to above says that this document "includes a map of potential areas for exploration. 'It talks about contractors around the world from, you know, 30-40 countries. And which ones have what intentions,' says Suskind. 'On oil in Iraq.'"

True enough; there is a "map of potential areas for exploration" in Iraq here. But what Paul O'Neill and Ron Suskind don't tell you is that the very same set of documents that contain the Iraq map and the list of Iraqi oil projects contain the same maps and similar lists of projects for the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia! When documents are produced in litigation (in this case, the Judicial Watch lawsuit relating to Cheney's energy task force), they are numbered sequentially. The two-page "Iraqi Oil Suitors" document that Suskind breathlessly touts is numbered DOC044-0006 through DOC044-0007. The Iraq oil map comes right before the list of Iraqi projects; it is numbered DOC044-0005.

DOC044-0001 is a map of oil fields in the United Arab Emirates. DOC044-0002 is a list of oil and gas development projects then going on in the United Arab Emirates. DOC044-0003 is a map of oil fields in Saudi Arabia. DOC044-0004 is a list of oil and gas projects in Saudi Arabia. So the "smoking gun" documents that Suskind and O'Neill claim prove that the administration was planning to invade Iraq in March 2001 are part of a package that includes identical documents relating to the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia. Does Paul O'Neill claim the administration was planning on invading them, too? Or, as Mylroie says, was this merely part of the administration's analysis of sources of energy in the 21st century?

There is only one possible conclusion: Paul O'Neill and Ron Suskind are attempting to perpetrate a massive hoax on the American people."

OK I might be going out on a limb here but I somehow got the impression that Howard Dean was pulling our collective leg's when he said Mr. President, if you'll pardon me, I'll teach you a little about defense. Dr. Dean you should have been on SNL with Rev. Al Sharpton a few weeks back, you would have had them rolling in the isles, I know that I would have been on the floor laughing with those type of one-liners.

Although, come to think of it, that might not be such a great suggestion after all. You can't even keep a simple little secret like Vermont's top secret protection plans for its nuclear power plant from prying eyes. That means you don't put us all in harms way by telling the world, it means you tell no one. So of course you just had to do the exact opposite. I am sorry, I must have missed it, you want to be President for what reason again exactly? I just can't seem to figure it out.

Dr. Dean you have been refusing to release your records during the 11 years as Vermont governor, with some of the reasons given that they may include security issues and personal information. After reading about your total incompetence Dr. Dean on something as "minor" as nuclear plant protection plans, I have to admit I misjudged you badly.

Egg on my face, forget SNL, you are not funny, not even one little bit.

Bush has showed North Korea what power is through his strong leadership in Iraq and Afghanistan and now they are offering to refrain from producing nuclear weapons.

It will be rather interesting to see how history depicts President Bush's time in office compared to President Clinton's, history will not be kind to Clinton. Before the Democrats won the White house 1992, Pakistan and India did not have nuclear weapons, now they both do. Before President Clinton came to office, Red China could not target American cities with nukes, now they can. Before he came to office, North Korea did not have nuclear weapons, now they do. North Korea was helped along by President Clinton giving them the advanced reactors that they needed to produce weapons-grade plutonium.

Now that we have a President that is totally focused on protecting us, the rest of the world, and particularly the Axis of Evil's are getting the message loud and clear. You are either with us or your are against us, there are no other choices

CNN is reporting that in South Dakota , former Rep. John Thune (R-SD) appears likely that he will be challenging Senate Minority Leader Tom Daschle (D-SD) for Daschle's open seat in November. What makes this interesting is that John Thune has already passed up an opportunity to run for South Dakota's sole seat in the U.S. House where he would have been huge favorite to win.

The impossible has happened, and no matter how it is spun, the improbable is that the US has ran out of the flu vaccine and we can partially place blame with Mrs. Clinton and her crusade against the "Evil Drug Companies" and Democrat Senators Like Ted Kennedy and Tom Daschle who refused to budge on Tort reforms.

At this point in time, there is only five companies that produce the Flu vaccine, (meanwhile most folks have just as many McDonald's within a five mile radius.) We can thank Hillary Clinton for having only those five companies, because as First Lady she turned the government into the majority buyer of vaccines and drove prices so artificially low that makers of the vaccine were unable to sustain a profit.

In the last of their two terms, Hillary and President Clinton were telling anyone who would listen that the vaccine industry, (Liberal’s read: "Evil Drug Companies") was horrible, and making obscene profits off the poor folks. The Clinton's were going take care of that because those drugs are just are too important and besides those vaccines should be free.

We also get to thank Democrat Senators for the shortages. Vaccine companies are supposed to be protected from lawsuits by the 1986 legislation, but tort lawyers (who the Democrats protect with all their might) have found loopholes and filed more than 200 cases against those same companies. It is interesting that that the World Health Organization has found that no other country is facing shortages. That is correct, the USA, with all their technological know-how got shoved into being a Third-World status by the Democrats.

This is the same Democrat (Hillary Care) that wants our total health care to be socialized and punish those who would rather nor play in her game

$5,000 for refusing to join the government-mandated health plan.

$5,000 for failing to pay premiums on time.

15 years to doctors who received "anything of value" in exchange for helping patients short-circuit the bureaucracy.

$10,000 a day for faulty physician paperwork.

$50,000 for unauthorized patient treatment.

$100,000 a day for drug companies that messed up federal filings.

the 'ole joke is "if you go and look the word clueless up in the dictionary, there will be a picture of Howard Dean" only it isn't a joke. Dean has came out and said "No Republican president has balanced the budget in 34 years," what the clueless Dean is not offering up is neither has any Democrat, as Presidents don't balance our national budgets, that job is up to the congress

How many times have you heard over the past several months that this is the worst economy since 1929, the Great Depression? Obviously the clueless Democrats are sort of overlooking the 3rd quarter of this year, after President Bush had to hammer them into submission to get his tax cuts in place, and now we are seeing the results of President Bush's tax cuts. The third-quarter growth rate for gross domestic product is being predicted to be a whooping, huge, enormous 5 percent. This is an annual growth rate of 4.3 percent for 2003. If you need to compare this to another Presidents, the GDP growth rate for 1999 was 4.1 percent. Those are the same numbers that has John Edwards saying
"Bill Clinton led the greatest period of economic expansion in history and we ought to be proud of him" . October is a historical month of earnings and market crashes , but not this October The market is up and with only 42 companies in the S&P 500 having reported third-quarter results, the average per share earnings for the index have already blown past estimates, coming in at $13.88, well above the projected $13.31. You would think that the clueless Democrats would be happy with this great news for our Nation, but alas no, their standard answer is "tax cuts for the rich" all the Democratic candidates would raise your taxes- thanks but no thanks - Those of use who do have a clue will stick with what is working -

Thinking back what we as a nation have had to deal with since 9/11, thousands and thousands of jobs lost due to the travel business alone going dead in the water, no one wanted to fly, no one wanted to travel overseas, business travel came to a halt. Now over 15 airlines are hiring. I have a family member who is a brakeman for the Railroad - I got to talk to him a few days ago, he was at work when he called me, working 12 + hour days, 7 days a week due to the overwhelming shipping needed by companies that have sold their product and need ways to get it to the stores. The Economy is gaining speed, and the only thing that can stand in it's way is the clueless.
Apparently, it's fine for a Democratic President to push for tax cuts that will spur economic growth, but not for a Republican. This falls under a previous word of the day Credibility, as in having none

Cruz Bustamante for giving the recall "meaning", to Gray Davis being blamed for not getting out when he still had the chance and then the DNC gets blamed for not supporting a "valid" Democrat to replace Davis - and the best one of all is the voters being blamed for being fooled by Arnold - It all falls back to the 'ole saying "Fool us once, shame on you, fool us twice shame on us" Well the California voters was not fooled again

Now that the Democrats are in this hot air balloon of their own choosing, they are attempting to blame the GOP for their choices they made. Remember that the DNC controlled 100% of the California government , 100%! and yet somehow this is all Bush's fault, Arnold's fault, my fault, heck give em time and the DNC will blame it on Sun Spots - it will never cross their minds that having no forward-looking plan of any kind other than Bush Bashing and of course their "Ace-n-the-hole" plan - Why that would be to Bash Bush

Loosing California Govenorship to the Republicans was a major hit to the National dreams of the DNC in 2004, if they loose California they might as well just stay in that Hot Air Ballon and even, even if they can win CA in 2004, it will not matter, didn't in 2000 and will not in 2004

Tuesday's thumping that the Liberals got by the California voters could spell the end of Senator Boxer. Think for a moment what waking up the day after election with a Howard Dean type as President . We would have Judges that use Overseas court rulings even more then they do now to explain some of their court decisions, We would have class-war anarchists who encourage, no they desire, that our military men and women shoot each other as a condition of getting their support

Would you really want a President who
constantly Flip-flops on just about everything even "Top strategists for Democratic presidential hopefuls are complaining privately that too many of the candidates are flip-flopping on issues to appeal to their party's activists and special interests, making it difficult to produce a clear national front-runner" in other words they have no credibility even in the eyes of their own peers

President Bush still has some issues to deal with, I believe he needs to come and defend himself from democrats who filibuster judges and call him a fake and fraud - But on the other hand, President Bush is still very well admired in the one place it really matters, in the heartland

Bottom line is that the Soccer mom's and NASCAR dad's trust President Bush and we have to remind them what the alternative is for them and their children if Leftist manage to win next year, and knocking on doors and calling them a few days before the election is a sure fire way of doing just that. Howard Dean has positioned himself as the only straight-shooting Democrat in the 2004 election, well Mr. Dean, if you think that shooting yourself constantly in the foot is "straight-shooting" then mark this date down on your calendar, you and I finally agree on something
